Tewkesbury Art Society is a very friendly group of almost 60 members of all abilities, from absolute beginners to near professionals, who all try to help each other whenever possible. We meet on alternate Tuesdays in Tewkesbury Methodist Hall, GL20 5PA (behind the Methodist Church at The Cross) from 10.00 (for 10.30) to 1.00pm. The postcode of the rear entrance in Swilgate Road is GL20 5PJ. During the winter months we normally have demonstrations or workshops led by professional artists which are free of charge to members of the Society. (There is a nominal £3 charge for guests & visitors). During the summer months we organise outside painting at various venues, including member's gardens, National Trust, and other properties. We find painting outside as a member of a group a great way to gain confidence.We also have occasional trips to Exhibitions and places of interest. The annual membership fee is only £25 (Less than £1 per meeting). Members also receive discounts at local Art Shops on production of their membership card. We hold a free annual exhibition each year in the Methodist Hall (The 2012 event will be from July 21st to 28th) - and members receive a newsletter from time to time.
